The units 40 and 40A of Carillon were created in 2000 following the conversion of a former restaurant into two residential dwellings. At that time, all partitions, firewalls, electrical systems, and plumbing were completely redone.

A red brick exterior cladding was installed, and the interior of the units was insulated.

The 40 Carillon unit is heated by a forced-air natural gas furnace with a heat pump (purchase date unknown). The 40A unit is heated with electric baseboards.

The 27 Pilon unit underwent extensive renovations in 2004, including the second-floor bathroom, flooring, and plumbing. Additional renovations were completed in 2008, including kitchen cabinets and plumbing. The furnace was replaced in 2010.

Only one hot water tank dates from 2025 at 40½ Carillon; the other four are over 10 years old.
